Boulder Creek Condominium Association Newsletter - October 2019

Volunteers wanted. No computer experience required. A special thank you to our contributors Carol Landis for providing the write up and photos for the spring clean up section listed below and Ralph and Vickie Albee for coordinating the spring clean up activity. We also appreciate Adam and Jenn Moneypenny for sharing their wedding photo with us. Thank you to Randy for sharing his big fish and smile with us. Thank you to Ron & Ellen and Larry & Lois for sharing their travels with us. You could be our next contributor. Contact Larry Stover with ideas or how you would like to be part of making this a monthly newsletter.

Randy Speckhard caught a 22 inch small mouth bass in Manistique Lake.  His smile tells all about his love for fishing.

We wish Stacy & Randy well as they will be moving to South West Michigan in a few weeks.

Thank you Randy for your time and efforts leading our Board of Directors.

Congratulations to Adam and Jenn Moneypenny on their August 24, 2019 wedding.

Ron and Ellen Myers enjoyed the first two weeks in September touring our largest state - Alaska. Their trip began with a 7 day cruise along the coast, visiting many fishing and mining ports. In Anchorage, they boarded a train to travel Alaska's interior with stops at Denali National Park and Fairbanks. A tour to an authentic Indian village, panning for gold, riding in a dog sled and seeing many species of Alaskan wildlife were some of their favorite experiences.  But the most memorable part of the trip was viewing the pristine beauty of Alaska's mountain ranges, waterfalls and glaciers.

Lois & Larry Stover enjoyed visiting Purdue's campus in West Lafayette, IN for an afternoon tour followed by watching Boilermaker Football playing under the lights. A full orange colored moon appeared just over the stadium as the game began. The Purdue All American Marchng Band was great, the team wasn't, however Larry met a long time friend/classmate at Boiler Crossing before the game.

The Unfinished "P" at Purdue which is located behind them is dedicated to students who passed away before they were able to finish their Purdue degree.

Good Neighbors!

As spring began to show it's beauty after a long cold winter, Boulder Creek residents received an email.  It was a call for help answered by nearly 20 people, to participate in  yard clean-up, and planting project for neighbors June and Jim Churchman, facing health issues at the time.

In a two hour time frame the bushes were trimmed, planting ares cleaned out, flowers planted and mulch laid.  To the delight of the Churchmans it was a blessing from above and an opportunity for neighbors to show how much they care.

Following the session, workers enjoyed a lunch provided for them by the family and oganizers of this event. What a perfect way to welcome our long awaited spring! Those who participated left feeling they made a difference in this neighbor's life!

October Birthdays: Wish Larry Stover (Oct 5th) and Ron Meyers (Oct 23rd) Happy Birthdays. Sorry if we missed any birthdays, celebrations, anniversaries etc.

We hope you will add your info to share with our community in future newsletters.

James and Cecilia Green will be moving into their new condo this month on Pebble Creek Drive.

Gary and Karen Carter will be moving into their new condo after their home is featured in the Parade of Homes.

Jenn Moneypenny moved in with her recent marriage to Adam.

Welcome new neighbors!

Notes from your board:

A new electronic SQP system is being tested. An email will be sent to all co-owners once a system is approved which will contain an invite to fill out an electronic SQP form. We encourage you to take advantage of this new system as it will make the board more efficient in handling SQPs in both receiving them and providing non confidential SQPs to all co-owners.

Have a great October and please submit ideas for future newsletters to Larry Stover.  Volunteers are always welcome!
